We had the pleasure to sit down with Jennifer Stubbs, a Casting Carolinas program participant turned volunteer and board member, to learn more about this powerful organization and her own journey in fly fishing. 

Most anglers are missing out on fly fishing in the wintertime - too cold, too dark, and seemingly fewer fish make it easy to write off the winter months. But for the adept angler who adjusts tactics for the season, winter can be primetime fishing. 

Fly fishing is often perceived as a solitary sport, where anglers disconnect from the noise of the world to find peaceful reflection on the water. Certainly this can be true, but perhaps that is the paradox of it. What begins as a way to find solitude turns into a conduit for community.
